I think you cannot recreate the arp module. But I'm really open to learn that it can work.
From what I know through my own experiments a few months back, the grid lacks the concept of an ordered set of notes, aka chord with lowest (index 1), highest (index n) and all in between notes (2 to n-1).
Without that capability you are not able to recreate the different modes, be it simple "up" or more complex ones like "blossom up", 1,2,1,3,...,1,n.
The Grid follows to closely the "analog modular" metapher and does not provide a ~gen module like Max/RNBO which is a little disappointing.
The only thing you can do is to map your chord notes to different channels before the chord enters the grid. I think there's a pizMidi plugin that can do this.
