I totally recommend getting Mixbox as a multi-FX plugin, if you like to tweak your sounds you will love to play with the cool filters, the splicer, etc...
Think I'll keep GR for special channels and bounce-in-place if things get crazy. But I may vey well jump on Mixbox, at some point.
That being said I don't think it replaces any guitar amp. I use BIAS FX2 which I love too but Mixbox can't replace it.
I do sometimes add it after, for example to use its compressor and saturation or even reverb.
Mixbox is also a fantastic channel strip... Literally could land on every channel for most types of production. For the price it's really cool and it will get used, that's the key too .. !!
