Like mentioned. If you want to place a signal far deep in the room then the whole signal should be dark b/c human perception identifies bright signals as near and dark signals as far naturally. Plus: Don't pan the signal(s) extremely left or right, more to the center, as much as possible.... I'm trying to get a reverb that is deep (like I'm far away, or in a chamber) without that noisy tail. ...
But I think what you are generally trying to achieve isn't what the Vintage Verb does best. Maybe test the ARVerb Room plugin. Only 19EUR till January 5th 2025. But try it first! It helps me a lot by achieving a virtual guitar amp in the room situation.
