Let me clarify that I am talking about replacing Z3ta completely and leaving it behind for those that don't mind jumping through various hoops to keep it going. TBT, out of the past Cakewalk line, I probably would miss Rapture more, but there are plenty of replacements that meet and exceed it IMO.
For me, the bottom line is that subjective character in sound more than how it achieves it. Though generally, that process is often intertwined.
Staying and/or keeping Z3ta is a pointless denial of the subject though.

I've always like Helix and didn't know they were still hanging on. Even their sale pricing seems high though in the relative market now. I'd be more apt to spend the extra $15 above that and jump on Avenger in that range. Thanks for posting that link.I always thought the closest plugin to z3ta in terms of synthesis architecture was audjoo Helix, which I know is tenuously hanging on but it does seem still possible to buy so not quite as defunct as z3ta
