Argggg....! Another rat!!!!
I have lived here a long time, never saw a single rat, this is the 2nd rat I found living on my engine block in a week.
Both were killed by The Jaws of Death, a rat trap designed like a smaller version of a bear trap.

The first rat was ginormous and I haven't been able to find photos of this species online anywhere near the size.
I would speculate 5-10 lbs.
The 2nd rat was also caught in the trap a couple days later, its head was crushed by the JOD (see above) but that didn't stop a THIRD RAT from eating the guts out of its friend, cousin, husband.... who knows.
While eating the guts, the entrails got wrapped around the wires in the engine block so I had to cut them out, piece by piece.
The head was left so it just stared at me while I removed its guts from my car with a look of dissolution, like it was listening to a Joy Division CD in the after life.

Disgusting......
The good news is, it left the liver for some reason if anyone is hungry.
